Opel celebrates the Corsa’s anniversary with a limited edition “40 Years” – Francuska.pl

When the first Opel Corsa rolled off the assembly line in 1982, it opened a new chapter in its success story.

To date, for 40 years and six generations of the model, more than 14 million units have left the production equipment; demand for the best-selling small car is as strong as ever, especially for the all-electric Corsa-e. Opel will celebrate the anniversary with a special “Corsa 40 Years” model, which will go on sale in selected European markets in the coming weeks. The German automaker released the first images today.

The Corsa 40 Years is a limited edition – Opel will produce only 1,982 units. 240 of them will go to the French market. The car is based on the GS Line version and will be painted in a new color called “Red record“, which closely resembles the red used on the original Corsa A. The contrast is provided by the black roof and black decorative elements such as the Opel Lightning logo (Opel Blitz) and the model name located in the center of the boot lid. 17-inch alloy wheels in gloss black with matt gray inserts emphasize the dynamic look.

On the inside, the Corsa 40 Years is not only beautiful but also very modern. The interior is of an unusual style, referring to the first generation, especially with a modern interpretation of the original tartan seat trim. Buyers will also be able to display the timeless design themselves, also outside the car – at no extra charge – in a limited edition tartan socks. One pair will have a modern design, the other will refer to the Corsa A.

The limited edition badge is also exclusive. Each Corsa 40 Years will have its own sticker numbered 0001 to 1982, affixed to the black dashboard trim on the passenger side. Furthermore, like every Corsa, the special model offers many comfort and safety features as standard. The list ranges from multimedia radios (compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) and LED headlights to electronic driver assistance systems such as Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keeping Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition Speed, Drowsiness Alert, Forward Collision Alert with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian. discover. Equipment also includes front and rear parking sensors, 180 ° panoramic reversing cameras and blind sensors. For added comfort, the model is equipped with heated front seats and a heated steering wheel as well as electric folding and heated side mirrors. The car also has a 7-inch color touchscreen with satellite navigation, DAB digital radio, Bluetooth®, and driving information is displayed on the 7-inch digital instrument cluster.

The Opel Corsa is the best-selling small car in the German market. In addition, the Corsa-e topped the sales of all battery electric vehicles in Germany in May. We can also talk about a great success in the UK: the current Corsa, launched in 2019, was the best-selling car in the UK in 2021, and this year it leads the sales list so far, and in May this year. The Corsa-e was the UK’s best-selling electric city car. Is it surprising that about a thousand copies of the Corsa-e 40 Years will go to the local market?

Of course, the Corsa 40 Years will be available under the Vauxhall brand. The price of the Opel Corsa 40 Years has not yet been announced. Like the Vauxhall in the UK, it will cost £31,000, but there will only be an electric version and it can only be ordered online. As many as 1,000 copies of the Vauxhall Corsa 40 Years will enter the UK market.
