Turin – The rally of rear-wheel drive Opels built up to the mid-1980s takes place in Italy every other year, but it has an international flavor. Organized this year, next Saturday September 14 in Ferrara, thanks to the cooperation of Opel Fans Italy and Opel Manta-A Fans Italy, the International Meeting of Historic Opels thus reaching its twelfth edition thanks to the formula that, data in hand , which has succeeded so far: a clever combination of Opel’s passion and culture for our beautiful country that includes many beautiful conditions to visit and admire. Precisely to give the opportunity to know our beautiful country and to encourage foreign participation, the event takes place, every time, in a different area in Northern Italy, such as Cittadella (Padua), Villafranca (Verona), Garda (Verona ), Fontanellato ( Parma) and regional capitals such as Parma and Rimini.

“This year we will be in Ferrara where, thanks to the patronage of the municipality of Romagna, we will have an open museum, well organized, also from a historical point of view, with a picture of the old Opel world.” emphasizes Carlo Carugati, the Media Office of Opel Fans Italy, with a past as Sales Director at the historic Opel dealership in Lombardy. «At the same time, the participants will be able to visit the historical part of Ferrara and the award ceremony will take place in the afternoon”

Ferrara is an ancient city, crossed by many ruling dynasties and which has reached today in the full splendor of its history, culture, art and music. The city is suspended between history and legend and still boasts some of the best preserved works today. Among these is the large and beautiful square of Ariostea ready to host the historic Opels in a truly unique context. Piazza Ariostea will be complete, with the arrangement of historic Opels and, of course, also carrying the “special” Opels (sports, racing and special) that will arrive at the event even if transported by trolley.

The program will include static performances from 9.30am to 5.30pm. A shuttle bus will be able to accompany the participants from Piazza Ariostea to Piazza Castello, with a free visit to the historical attractions of the city and its museums and lunch with standard menus. The event will conclude with an award ceremony for Opel, voted for by guests and participants.
