The fair at Lincoln Northeast gives students a glimpse of UNL’s science programs

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Northeast High School hosted a college exhibition Wednesday evening with the University of Nebraska Lincoln.

The event promoted the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.

High school students get an overview of UNL’s animal and food science, engineering, forensic science and pre-veterinary programs.

The event coincided with parent-teacher conferences for students.

The coordinators — Tammera Mittelstet of the college of ag sciences and Northeastern Principal Keri Applebee — said that was to make it easier for students.

“We thought it might be a fun opportunity to try to make it a conference evening because we already have a community of stakeholders coming to the school,” Applebee said.

UNL and Northeastern hope to collaborate again to give even more students a chance to connect and envision their future endeavors.
