Oscar Piastri briefly in F1?

Oscar Piastri will make his Formula One debut next year. He will replace Daniel Ricciardo at McLaren and Lando Norris.

Norris, whose 2023 season will be his fifth in the Premier League, has shown over the past two years that he can be a team leader. Ricciardo was indeed given the assignment, but the eight-time F1 winner failed to introduce himself to Woking. In addition, the difference in performance between the two drivers was so great that McLaren decided to terminate the contract with the regular Australian, whose results seemed far from what was expected.

Now Piastri, who can boast a strong CV in his young career, will try to match the results recorded by Norris.

“This is a bold move on Oscar’s part,” said 2016 F1 world champion Nico Rosberg. Either he beats Lando or he’s out of the game. He has a very difficult task ahead of him, but he believes in his abilities. Of course, when you think you’re that good, you have to try. Opportunities like this don’t come around very often and he did everything right to take advantage of it.

Rosberg sees Lando Norris as a future world champion. In this context, he emphasizes that it will be very difficult for a 21-year-old to continue with his girlfriend.

While Ricciardo arrived at McLaren with a lot of experience and failed, Piastri comes on board as a rookie.

“Ricciardo is a multi-race winner, one of the best riders in the world and he found himself in a very difficult time against Lando,” added the German. – Oscar, on the other hand, is new to the game and maybe one of the stars of the future. However, I do not believe that Ricciardo has suddenly forgotten how to drive.

– That is why I point out that Norris only presents the form of a champion, and against this basis, before the Oscar, a great attempt to compare the performance of his colleague – he concluded.
