2025 Infiniti QX80 Teased With New Design, 450-HP Twin-Turbo V-6

2025 Infiniti QX80 Teased With New Design, 450-HP Twin-Turbo V-6

  • Infiniti has revealed the engines for the next-generation QX80 SUV.
  • The images show the same design as the QX Monograph concept shown last summer.
  • The 2025 QX80 will be unveiled on March 20 ahead of a private presentation at the New York auto show.

UPDATE 3/4/24: Infiniti confirmed that the new 2025 QX80 will ditch the old 5.6-liter V-8 in favor of a 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6. The new powertrain produces 450 horsepower and 515 pound-feet of torque, both of which are significant increases over the V-8. It will use a nine-speed automatic transmission and promises quick acceleration and excellent fuel economy. Infiniti also said that the QX80 will be available with air suspension.

A new generation of the full-size Infiniti QX80 is on the way. First previewed last season at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance with the QX Monograph concept, Infiniti has revealed a few teaser images for the latest version of its large and compact luxury SUV. The 2025 Infiniti QX80 is scheduled to be unveiled on March 20.

The new QX80 sports what Infiniti calls its “Artistry in Motion” design language, and appears to carry over many design elements from last year’s concept. The triggers feature chirping LED daytime running lights—meant to mimic “digital piano keys”— and a full-width backlight that displays the same look. We also get glimpses of retractable door handles, a “4WD” badge on the rear, and an “Autograph” badge—usually reserved for the higher-end Infiniti models—along the side window sills.

Following the unveiling of the 2025 QX80 on March 20, the luxury SUV will make its public debut at the New York auto show. The current QX80 is powered by a 400-horsepower 5.6-liter V-8 paired to a seven-speed automatic transmission, but rumors suggest this engine will bow to the next-generation SUV. We think the new model will be powered by a small turbo-charged V-6 engine. Look for more details to explain ahead of the full show next month.
