Pennsylvania LGBTQ leaders have founded a statewide advocacy organization, committed to advancing the rights and well-being of the LGBTQ community in the Commonwealth.
The Pennsylvania LGBTQ+ Statewide Advocacy Organization (PLSAO) was established to foster a more equitable and inclusive society for LGBTQ Pennsylvanians through education, advocacy, and mobilization. The organization seeks to promote the political, economic, social, and cultural advancement of LGBTQ individuals and their families.
“The Pennsylvania LGBTQ+ Statewide Advocacy Organization is a unified voice for the LGBTQ community across Pennsylvania,” said PLSAO co-founder and Executive Director Ryan O’Connor. “We are committed to working to ensure that all Pennsylvanians can live their lives with dignity and respect, free from discrimination and violence.”
The organization will focus on educating the public on issues of importance to the LGBTQ community, advocating for legislation that supports LGBTQ rights, and encouraging LGBTQ Pennsylvanians to become engaged in the political process. PLSAO will also work to inform and educate lawmakers on the needs of LGBTQ Pennsylvanians.
“We are excited to be launching this important initiative,” said PLSAO co-founder and Board Chairwoman Toni Blackwell. “We know that the only way to achieve lasting change and progress is through a powerful, unified voice that speaks for and represents the interests of the LGBTQ community in Pennsylvania.”
The organization has already begun mobilizing and advocating for the LGBTQ community in Pennsylvania. PLSAO is currently working to pass legislation that will protect LGBTQ Pennsylvanians from discrimination, ensure access to healthcare for LGBTQ individuals, and promote the visibility and acceptance of LGBTQ people in the Commonwealth.
“We are proud to be part of this effort to improve the lives of LGBTQ Pennsylvanians,” said PLSAO co-founder and Deputy Director Matt Reichel. “We are confident that our unified voice will be a powerful force in advancing the rights and well-being of the LGBTQ community in Pennsylvania.”
