MG’s new head of design designed the Bugatti Veyron at the age of 25

He was a design talent at the beginning of the 21st century and was given the freedom to express this in various products. Of course we are talking about Jozef Kaban, who in the late 1990s, at the age of 25, drew the design of the supercar we now know as the Bugatti Veyron. It gave the Slovakian a free pass to sign many other cars. From the timeless Audi A5 to the family SUV Skoda Kodiaq to the Volkswagen ID.Buzz. In between, he was also responsible for the current generation of the Series 7, but we forgive him for that.

And Bugatti com… MG

Kaban will now take up a new role within SAIC. In full it means Vice President of Global Design. In human terms, it means that he will help shape MG’s future design direction. It doesn’t make sense. Because SAIC’s parent company is the largest car seller in China and has helped ensure that China now sells more cars than Japan.

SAIC, with MG as its flagship brand, has thus become a global player. And then it helps to have someone at the design helm who has been designing cars for the global market since the 1990s. Kaban – who according to rumors has been unceremoniously sidelined at Volkswagen – is already proud of his new challenge and can’t wait taking the Far East towards a new era of design. More Audi A5 and less BMW 7 Series please, Kaban.
