The year 2008 presents itself with a new look and a completely updated technical specification. The range now exceeds 400 km.

The latest Peugeot 2008 it was launched after 208 years ago.

But it’s Peugeot’s urban SUV that’s being redesigned first. This is an opportunity for the electric version to adopt improvements already announced on other models using the e-CMP base.

The improved range should make the plug-in version, which already accounted for 17% of 2008 sales by 2022, even more attractive.

After the 508, the 2008 is the second model to receive a new signature headlight, designed by Matthias Hossann, who took over from Gilles Vidal as Peugeot design manager.

This signature has three vertical shiny claws, set in a glossy black insert. Together with GT finished, the claws extend to full LED lights. The front has new grilles that feature the brand’s new logo.

At the rear, only the light signature has been updated. The new 2008 is available in six colors, including the new Okenite White. There is also new rimfrom 16 to 18 inches, some with interesting designs.

What’s new inside

On board, it’s almost the same. Peugeot did not touch the features of the i-Cockpit, but modernized it. All versions will come standard with a 10 inch touch screen (early bridges are currently 7 inches). The 10-inch digital instrument cluster has a new look. The 3D display is reserved for the top of the range GT.

Between minor cosmetic changesthere is a new logo on the steering wheel and ambient light improved (new colors, coordinated with those of the main screen).

All upholstery has been redone. The GT may have one in Alcantara.

As for technologyPeugeot reports a more powerful induction charger, now HD parking cameras and more USB sockets (up to three USB-C and one USB-A).

Technological innovation

Everything, or almost! The E-2008 adopts Peugeot’s new electric engine for urban and compact cars, namely a 115 kW block, compared to the previous 100 kW. The result is an output of 156 HP instead of 136 HP. This engine is promised to have less energy. Also, there is a new one 54 kWh battery, compared to the previous 50 kWh. As a result, the range has increased significantly.

Although it was reduced by 345 km, it now stands at 406 km.

As for recharging, nothing changes: as usual there is a single-phase charger 7.4 kW. The 11 kW three-phase charger will remain an option. For fast charging, the maximum is 100 kW. This means you can go from 20 to 80% charge in about 30 minutes.

The new E-2008 will be launched this summer.
