The new Dacia Duster will be a hybrid. This is what it should cost – Fire

Although it won’t go on sale until June 2024, the third generation Dacia Duster has seen the light of day. The car will still be an SUV, although there will be many new features.

The new Dacia Duster will go on sale more than six years after the premiere of the second generation of the model. In 2021, the car got a facelift.

100 percent more expensive in five years

Although these are just assumptions, the cheapest version of the third generation Duster will cost less than PLN 20,000. euro, which at the current exchange rate (November 30, 2023) would mean approximately PLN 87,000. zlotys. However, these numbers are subject to change until the Duster goes on sale.

Let’s remember that when the second generation of Duster entered Polish showrooms at the beginning of 2018, the cheapest version cost PLN 39,900. After being refreshed in the summer of 2021, the price increased to PLN 49,900. Currently, to own a Dacia Duster, you have to spend at least PLN 79,900 – twice as much as in 2018.

But how will the third edition of Duster differ from its predecessor? First of all, the engine. Dacia has finally chosen a hybrid car. Options will still include an LPG-powered drive, popular in Poland.

The new Duster will be offered in three engine variants. These are the differences:

• Hybrid 140 – consisting of two electric motors and a 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine that will produce 140 HP,
• TCE 130 – a three-cylinder car with a capacity of 1.2 liters, which will actually be popular. mild hybrid (MHEV),
• ECO-G 100 – version powered by LPG gas.

There will also be a version with a four-wheel drive and a ground clearance of 21.7 cm.

What’s inside? First of all, the future owners of the new Duster will get more space in the cabin and almost the same length of the car. Upholstery will be made of a special plastic part, with 20%. from recycled materials.

The journey will be made more pleasant with a new entertainment system with a 10-inch touchscreen. Driving parameters will be displayed on a new 7-inch screen built into the steering wheel.

Duster is losing fans

The most popular model of 2019 among Polish private customers, which a few years ago had a lower price than its market rivals, including: due to a large increase, it is losing customers in Poland. In the first ten months of 2023, Polish private customers registered 3,562 new Dusters, which meant a 22% reduction compared to the same period in 2022.

This is the biggest decrease among all the models from the top ten series.

The losers of Duster are: Toyota Yaris Cross, Toyota Yaris, which the Romanian model has been fighting for victory in the popularity rank in recent years, and Kia Sportage.

Taking into account all registrations, Duster was entered into the database of the General Register of Vehicles 7,566 times this year (-17.9% per year). However, other models with the Dacia logo are also losing, especially the Sandero (-24.8% y/y).
