A surprisingly large number of Bugatti Chiron owners in the Netherlands

Bugatti is known for its lightning fast, but above all, very expensive cars. Cars like the Bugatti Chiron are only for the rich, which begs the question of how many of the brand’s cars are driving around in the Netherlands.

We previously delved into the license plate register to find out the number of Dutch Ferrari owners. That number is meaningless. But Bugatti is of a different order than Ferrari. There are still a surprising number of them driving around in our country.

Number of Bugattis in the Netherlands

The total number of registered vehicles of the French supercar brand is 119. An amazing number when you consider that the Bugatti Chiron cost between 2 and 3 million euros new. The last article recently went under the hammer for most of that.

However, not all Chirons. Most of the registered models are old ones such as the Type 44 and Type 57. Both cars were built before World War II.

You will find even fewer copies of the legendary Chiron, Veyron and EB 110 in the Netherlands. However, with nine license plate registrations, the Chiron is the third most common Bugatti in the Netherlands.

The EB 110 is an icon of the early nineties. The hypercar was powered by more than 600 hp V12 and no less than four turbos. Only three of the Bugatti EB 110 can be found in the Netherlands. Four of the Veyron 16.4, which refers to sixteen cylinders and four turbos, have a Dutch license plate. One of these is the 1,200 hp Grand Sport Vitesse. So these examples are much rarer than the Bugatti Chiron.

In addition, there are a large number of models, of which only one drives around the Netherlands. It is a brand with a rich history (and customer base), and therefore vintage cars are popular with collectors and enthusiasts. What?
