Audi RS e-tron GT Performance (2024): A new top model is planned

(Motorsport-Total.com/Motor1) – Shortly after the debut of the facelifted Porsche Taycan, Audi previews its electric sedan version. Similar to the current Taycan Turbo GT, four rings put the finishing touches on the new flagship. It’s called the RS e-tron GT Performance and is meant to be reminiscent of the RS6 and RS7 Performance petrol models.

Grow

It will not be as strong as the example from Zuffenhausen, similar to the current one RS e-tron GT it’s not that bad Taycan Turbo S. However, there will be an increase in performance compared to the 475 kW (646 hp) and 830 Nm of torque that the top model offers. The Taycan now offers 650 or 700 kW in its most powerful versions.

Audi is holding back on details (it’s a joke, anyway), but it does show images of a camouflaged car with ceramic brakes lurking behind the aero wheels.

It’s unlikely that the revised front and rear engines could match the Taycan Turbo S’s 852 hp, let alone the Wild one’s 1,000 hp-plus. Turbo GT. We know that Audi engineers not only changed the powertrain but also the battery pack for a wider range. For comparison: the new Taycan with Performance Battery Plus has a usable energy content of 98.6 kWh, while the base model has a net pack of 83.6 kWh.

The charging speed has also increased, which is not surprising given that the new Taycan can now deliver 320 kW instead of 270 kW. Elsewhere, Audi has developed a new chassis with four automatic double-valve springs. This responsive device is carried over from the new Porsche Panamera. In Audi, the chassis is arranged for more comfort compared to the more aggressive Taycan.

Audi aims to launch a new version of the e-tron GT later this year. There will be updates to the entire range, as the sub-models under the RS and RS Performance are also updated.
