As part of the show Car Guide up QUB-RadioAntoine Joubert and Germain Goyer commented on the recently test-driven 2022 Chrysler Pacifica and 2023 Toyota GR Corolla.
For his part, Germain drove 1,000 kilometers at the wheel of a Chrysler Pacifica in its plug-in hybrid version. At the end of the exercise, he noted a consumption of about 9.5 L/100 km even though he had traveled about 400 km in electric mode. Among other things, he criticizes the fact that we have to give up the Stow’n Go arrangement and all-wheel drive when choosing plug-in hybrid technology. He mentions that during winter, we can travel about forty kilometers in electric mode.
Unfortunately, he points out that he had some problems with the Uconnect system, which is nevertheless reliable and intuitive in general. In his opinion, it is not necessary to go to the market. The Touring-L version is fully functional. All in all, he found the Pacifica very good.
As for Antoine, he tested the most aggressive version of the Corolla range: the GR Corolla. A real little bomb, it doesn’t compromise. It is noisy and its suspension is dry. He mentions that he would appreciate more support from the seats. We are far from the luxury and sophistication of the Volkswagen Golf R which is its rival. He called the sound system bad.
On the other hand, in terms of driving, he found it just weird. It is very light and convenient. He was also able to see the whole thing on closed circuit.
