Accident with the new Audi sports car: Damage of more than 200,000 euros, two injured

(ty) A 36-year-old car driver destroyed a brand new, expensive “Audi” sports car yesterday afternoon in a traffic accident in the Neustadt an der Donau municipality. In addition to extensive property damage, the man now also has criminal cases on his hands. Because in the accident he caused, he was not the only one injured, but even the 53-year-old driver of the car who had given him a chance. This was reported today by the Kelheim area police station.

According to the police, the accident happened around 3:05 am. The 53-year-old, who is from the district of Eichstätt, was driving his car on the federal highway B299 – from Neustadt – towards Beilngries. At the same time, the 36-year-old, who lives in the district of Kelheim, wanted to turn left onto the B299 towards Neustadt with his sports car at the junction of the district road KEH4 – coming from Irnsing. “The 36-year-old man ignored the 53-year-old man’s right of way, which resulted in a collision between the two vehicles at the intersection,” police said.

According to news reports, the 53-year-old and 36-year-old suffered minor injuries in the road accident, “which required treatment at nearby hospitals.” Both vehicles were completely damaged in the accident and there was also damage to the guardrail. According to police estimates, the amount of material damage is more than 200,000 euros. A criminal case has been initiated against the 36-year-old man for negligent bodily harm.
