The Kia EV5 comes as a GT version with over 300 hp

Kia presented the EV5 last summer and has high expectations for this electric vehicle. There has already been talk of “lots of capacity” and Kia thinks this new SUV will be a top seller for the brand. And to appeal to a wider audience, there are also several versions, such as the GT version.

We probably won’t get the full Kia EV5 GT (yet), but we will get the Kia EV5 GT line, which is now available in China (at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology). it happened it is. By the way, the GT version is not due until the end of 2024.

In terms of performance, we are looking at two engines with 215 hp in the front and 98 hp in the back, so together you get more than 300 hp. That would be good for a GT line, but not enough for a real GT. I wouldn’t be sure if Kia is planning a full GT here, like the Kia EV6.

I’m curious to see how and when the Kia EV5 will come to us, because the focus was initially on China. An electric car could be a good alternative to the Tesla Model Y and that was, after all, the best-selling car of 2023.
