New Kia Sorento: This is the cost of the Korean SUV


Kia has revamped its large Sorento SUV. The car presents itself with a changed appearance, new body colors, comfort and improved interior design as well as new technologies and support systems.

Kia Sorento: three engine variants and prices

The Sorento is available with five, six or seven seats. Vehicle choice continues to include the standard all-wheel drive plug-in hybrid as the top engine, as well as a full hybrid with a 2.2-liter diesel, each of which is offered as either all-wheel or front-wheel drive. All variants of the revised model can be ordered now. The plug-in and full hybrid ride on 19-inch wheels, while the diesel version has a choice of 18- or 20-inch rims.

The diesel rollout will begin in March, with two hybrid variants expected to follow from June. Prices for the Sorento start at 53,190 euros for the front-wheel drive diesel model and 55,190 euros for the all-wheel drive version. Sorento 1.6 T-GDI Hybrid 2WD costs from 53,690 euros (all-wheel drive from 55,690 euros) and 1.6 T-GDI Plug-in Hybrid AWD from 59,640 euros.

Kia Sorento looks completely different

Visually, the Sorento has changed significantly compared to its predecessor, it now looks more powerful: a new bonnet with a clear design and the Kia logo in the middle gives the SUV a striking look. The vertical lights are now separated from the grill and are related to the rear lights, which are also vertical. The grill itself has also been redesigned and now has a three-dimensional grille.

What stands out in the interior is the new design of the dashboard and center console. The curved panoramic display, which includes a touchscreen for navigation and a digital instrument cluster, are the eye-catchers in the interior. Below the touchscreen, a new multi-mode control unit with two rotary controls and a series of sensor buttons provides direct access to the most important infotainment and climate control functions.

Kia Sorento: New equipment and features

Sorento is offered in three versions: Vision, Spirit and Platinum. The Koreans have also improved the technology: Sorento also had new technologies and support systems:

  • Fingerprint recognition for self-driving cars
  • Digital car key
  • Self-dimming digital interior mirror
  • Head-up display now 10 inches horizontally (instead of the previous 8.5 inches)
  • The touchscreen, whose diagonal is now 12.3 centimeters (previously 10.25 inches)
  • Enhanced surround view camera (surround view monitor) with three-dimensional display

New comfortable seats are available for company car drivers:

  • High-quality reclining seats for the driver and front passenger with reclining position
  • Ergo Motion driver’s seat with massage function and adjustable side bolsters
