According to Polestar’s CEO, manufacturers delaying the transition to electrification are making a mistake. He believes that these brands fall into a “trap” of short-term vision.

Since its arrival on the market, Polestar has only produced electric cars. Polestar 1 was a plug-in hybrid, and all other models are fully electric.

The company, through its strategy, cannot turn back the electrification clock. Its CEO, Thomas Ingenlath, believes that making such a decision is counterproductive anyway.

We recently learned that Mercedes plans to make hot cars for as long as possible. We know that Ford has adjusted its strategy and that others, like General Motors, are moving cautiously. What Ingenlath does not understand, who considers this to be inevitable.

“There is a big threat and danger if you don’t accept and believe in the technology and innovation of the future, whether it is electric motors, innovation in batteries and in electronics and software.”he announced.

Polestar and Tesla are not competitors

According to him, builders waiting are letting a market pass that is ready to move forward. “If you don’t participate and you think you can wait, it’s a wonderful trap”. Ingenlath ensures that customers, “they are ready” adopting electrical technology.

Despite Polestar’s split from Volvo last month, Ingenlath is confident about the future. Geely is still investing in the brand, and this is not delaying the Polestar electric car plans.

According to Ingenlath, the fact that some manufacturers are slowing down is “a fantastic opportunity for Polestar”. And while his company has a similar strategy to Tesla, Ingenlath doesn’t think they’re rivals.

According to him, Tesla and Polestar “don’t go to one market”. Moreover, they “they are not in the same league for a large market and competition with traditional producers”.
