We finally know when the Polestar will arrive in France

After a long dispute preventing Polestar from selling its cars in France, the Swedish company will finally be able to make it here.

What? Do you know Polestar? Chances are yes, but you’ve never seen one on the road. And that’s normal.

The conflict between Polestar and Citroën

And for good reason, the Sino-Swedish manufacturer, which is part of the Geely group like Volvo, Lotus and Lynk & Co, is not yet sold in France. But what is the reason? In fact, Citroën had blocked the introduction of Polestar in France due to the similarity between the logos of the two brands. The Polestar-style logo, representing the North Star, was taken to be similar to Citroën’s chevrons. In 2020, the French right decided to support Citroën, to ban Polestar from using its logo in France resulting in exclusion from the French market. After years of dispute, an agreement was reached between the two developers. The complaint has been withdrawn, and the Polestar website, previously inaccessible from France, is now available for free. But when will we finally be able to see cars from the company on our roads? Well it could be soon, and that’s good news for anyone who wants to buy!

Polestar: when will the manufacturer arrive in France?

And for good reason, the official arrival of Polestar in France will be planned for 2025, or next year. Dealerships will be established in the city, and repairs can be carried out within the existing Volvo network. The three color variants will offer the Polestar 2, an electric sedan that competes with the Tesla Model 3, the Polestar 3, a large SUV based on the Volvo EX90 platform as well as Polestar 4, which takes the form of an SUV with a flexible profile. Other new products, such as the Polestar 5 sedan, will follow a little later. But we will still have to be patient before we see them come to the market. The Swedish manufacturer hopes to attract customers from top German brands, especially Porsche, Audi and BMW. However, within the Geely group, Polestar will have to coexist with Lotus, whose position is not very different. Suffice it to say that the manufacturer will have a lot to do and will have to find ways to do well in an increasingly competitive market.

In summary, the arrival of Polestar in France marks a turning point for this brand, which wants to conquer the electric market.
