Edmonton police have verified that the man who was discovered deceased in a northeast Edmonton street had been shot to fatalities.

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has confirmed that the man found dead in a northeastern Edmonton street was shot and killed. The individual, who has yet to be identified, was discovered by officers in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 5th.

The EPS is currently performing an investigation into the events that led to the man’s death. A statement released by the EPS on Sunday evening mentioned that the man’s death is being treated as a homicide.

Officials on the scene stated that the deceased male appeared to have suffered from gunshot wounds. The Edmonton Medical Examiner’s Office is conducting a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.
