The F-150 Lightning has been on the road since April and has received positive feedback from consumers. The manufacturer decided to use it to create a police car.

Ford officially announced the 2023 F-150 Lightning Pro Special Duty Vehicle (SSV) in a press release this morning, sharing some of its key specs and features to help police. “We are proud to offer America’s first electric police truck to local government customers who can use the latest technology to improve their productivity. The Pro Power Onboard can be used as a mobile power source to illuminate highway accident sites at night, and The power train helps reduce the potential for accidents, fuel costs and scheduled maintenance needs, and Mega Power Funk provides the additional lockable parts for specialized police equipment that our customers have come to expect from a leader in police vehicles, said Nate Oscarson, Manager Ford Pro Sales.

The electric police F-150 can accelerate from 0-100 km / h in less than four seconds. In addition to the mission specification, the F-150 Pro SSV is designed to handle many other situations that officers experience during their duties, such as assisting at an accident or crime scene, or the need to tow a boat or trailer. According to the manufacturer, more information on the performance of the F-150 Electric, including the range, will be available during the holidays.

  • Mega Power Funk with 0.4 m3 lockable cargo area with 220 amp DC-DC power source
  • Standard battery:
    • 452 hp, 1,050 Nm torque, 3,500 kg towing capacity and 1,000 kg maximum load
  • Battery with long range:
    • Less than four seconds, 0-100 km / h, 580 hp, 1,050 Nm of torque and the ability to pull 4,500 kg.
