The new Porsche Cayenne GTS arrives with a 500 hp V8


Halfway between the S versions and the thunderous Turbo models, the Cayenne GTS comes with a powerful 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8.

The new Porsche Cayenne family is slowly taking shape. After the presentation of hybrid versions and Turbo models, Porsche presents the popular GTS version, “The best of both worlds” in short and increased strength and preserved comfort.

Also available in a Coupe version, this Cayenne GTS receives a twin 4.0-liter V8 with 500 hp and sports special cosmetic attachments.

Influence of the Turbo GT version

The heart of the Cayenne GTS is of course its engine, a 4.0-liter bi-turbo eight-cylinder (non-electric) that makes a little something. 500 hp and 660 Nm, with an increase of 40 hp and 40 Nm respectively compared to the old Cayenne GTS. Power is still sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Porsche announces 0 to 100 km / h reached in 4.4 secondswhen the maximum speed is 275 km / h. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via Porsche Traction Management, a technology also present in the Turbo GT version.
The front suspension struts of the Cayenne GTS models are coming out Cayenne Turbo GT (not released in Europe since the new generation). They increase the negative wheel speed by 0.58 degrees compared to other Cayenne models.
The Cayenne GTS is 10 mm lower than the hybrid version and is equipped with Torque Vectoring, adaptive air suspension and, optionally, Porsche’s Dynamic Chassis Control.

The Cayenne is recognizable by black GTS lettering on the sides and on the tailgate, while the grille features large air vents and darkened headlights. Red brake pads answer the call, while the wheel arches and side skirts are in gloss black thanks to the Sport Design package as standard. The sports exhaust pipes, black on the previous model, are now black brass. In addition, Porsche completes the aesthetic portfolio of GTS models with 21-inch anthracite gray rims in the RS Spyder model.
The technological equipment on board is the same as on other Cayennes, and three screens. The upholstery is Race-Tex, a fabric found on the seats, door panels, center console and dashboard. Only on the Cayenne Coupé do we get a fixed panoramic roof, an adjustable spoiler and the possibility to request three different types of packages to reduce the weight of the car. These packages can include, for example, a carbon fiber roof with a diffuser and a small number of sound absorbing panels. According to Porsche, the weight on the scale may decrease up to 25 kg.

Porsche Cayenne GTS starts out 141 000 euros in France, and 144 228 euros in the Coupe version. To this, we must add the inevitable penalty of 60,000 euros, the car is not at all hybrid.
