The new Porsche Cayenne GTS: a powerful sports car and SUV! + PHOTOS

Porsche is expanding the Cayenne model range and new, dynamic GTS models. The SUV and Coupé combine a powerful 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 368 kW (500 hp) and a chassis optimized for daily use, specific design features and more standard equipment. The three letters GTS enjoy a special reputation among Porsche enthusiasts. The letters represent an extra dose of flexibility and long-distance connectivity. The Cayenne is, at its core, a powerful sports car and SUV. But with GTS models, this balance has traditionally shifted towards better road performance. With its powerful drivetrain, precise engine tuning, suspension and transmission and unique design The new Porsche Cayenne GTS true to this principle, while still suitable for daily use.

Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Chassis Technology
Thanks to the dynamically tuned GTS chassis, the Porsche Cayenne GTS is 10 millimeters lower. The SUV now has adaptive air suspension as standard, including Porsche Performance Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus). . All chassis components and control systems, such as Porsche Traction Management (PTM) and the optional Porsche Chassis Control (PDCC), are expressly designed to improve the car’s road performance.

The GTS’s two-valve damper technology provides impressive responsiveness, while the air suspension with 2-chamber technology gives the car springy dynamics while ensuring driving comfort. The steering knuckles on the front axle of the Cayenne GTS models come from the Cayenne Turbo GT, a version that Porsche does not offer in Europe. They increase the negative camber of the wheels by 0.58 degrees, providing more agility and unique driving dynamics.

More efficient and 30 kW (40 hp) more powerful than the previous model
In addition to the well-tuned chassis, the impressive V8 is another key feature of the new Cayenne GTS. The 4.0 liter V8 bi-turbo engine has undergone major technical modifications. This has resulted in efficiency gains and a significant increase in performance. The engine now produces 368 kW (500 hp), an increase of 30 kW (40 hp) compared to the previous GTS. Maximum torque is 660 Nm, an increase of 40 Nm. The eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission significantly improves driving performance through short responses and shift times in Sport and Sport Plus modes.

The engine and transmission ensure impressive performance in the four-door sports car. The new Cayenne GTS accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.4 seconds; the top is 275 km / h. Just like the high-performance Turbo GT, the transfer case for the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) four-wheel drive system has a separate cooling system to regulate temperature. It ensures that the four-wheel drive system continues to work efficiently, even under heavy loads or during long-term use (cycle).

Porsche Cayenne GTS recognized for its sporty accents
All Porsche GTS models are recognizable by their unique, sporty accents. On the Cayenne GTS, these are black ‘GTS’ lettering on the sides and rear of the SUV, a distinctive nose with large cooling air intakes, dark headlights and taillights and red brake calipers. Adherence to common design DNA ensures that the Cayenne GTS retains an instantly recognizable Porsche look.

Parts such as side skirts, front wing inserts, side window surrounds and wheel arch extensions – all part of the standard Sport Design package – are now finished in high-gloss black. On earlier GTS models, some of these body parts were painted in body color. In contrast, the sports exhaust pipes, which were previously black, are now finished in dark bronze. Cayenne GTS models are equipped with 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels in anthracite gray.

The Cayenne GTS has a heated GT sports steering wheel as standard. The headrest, armrests and door panels, as well as the center panels of the eight-way adjustable sports seats, are covered in high-quality Mbio-Tex. The side pillars are raised for more lateral support during fast cornering. Only for the GTS, Porsche offers two alternative interior packages in Carmine Red or Slate Gray Neo.

A new driving experience with sensory lighting and surround sound
The new GTS models feature all the features recently introduced on the Cayenne, including the new Porsche Driver Experience and a curved digital instrument cluster with an optional passenger display. In addition to the Sport Design package, HD black LED headlights and air suspension, the GTS also features a Bose® Surround Sound system and interior lighting. The Cayenne GTS Coupé is equipped as standard with a fixed glass roof and a convertible rear spoiler.

According to the customer’s wishes, Porsche further enhances the Coupé’s dynamic feel with a sports exhaust system and tailpipes centered in dark bronze. This is available as part of three different light sports packages. This also includes a lighter roof, carbon fiber rear diffuser and reduced insulation. Depending on the equipment, the lightweight packages can reduce the weight of the GTS by up to 25 kg.

The new Porsche Cayenne GTS can be ordered immediately and will be available at eight Dutch Porsche Centers starting this summer. The Porsche Cayenne GTS has a suggested retail price of €225,300, the Porsche Cayenne GTS Coupé is available from. €229.700.
