Seasonal electric LCV: Everything you need to know about Flexis, the alliance between Renault, Volvo and CMA CGM

To facilitate the launch of its new generation of utility vehicles, described as revolutionary, Renault has teamed up with Volvo and shipowner CMA CGM to create Flexis.

Within two years, this new venture should sell 100% of the electric utility vehicle. This new model will be, according to Renault boss Luca de Meo, “a new way of disruption for utility vehicles, with the genius of Lego”.

Leaving the standard architecture, the FlexEvan project currently being developed will make it possible to offer a vehicle with the dimensions of a Kangoo but with the ability to carry Traffic and the possibility to choose the type of bodywork or even change it.

The basis of this system is the base of a “skateboard” that carries the entire kinematic chain (battery, motor, running gear) and in which the bodywork is placed like Lego bricks.

The first official image allows you to see the potential bodywork and expected size. Thinking above all for urban use, the turning radius will be that of a “segment B car” to assure the managers of the new Flexis joint venture.

This new type of utility vehicle will be assembled at the Sandouville plant that currently manufactures the Trafic. It should lead to the creation of 550 positions on the site.
