Porsche is launching a new e-bike and it costs that much

Porsche is launching a new high performance bike, the Cross Performance EXC 2ND GEN. This powerful electric mountain bike is, as you might expect, not cheap.

Porsche has been selling electric bikes in small quantities for a few years now. The car brand’s latest e-bike is a powerful mountain bike with a carbon frame. The bike has a Shimano EP801 motor that can produce a maximum of 85 Nm of torque.

There are three sizes. The smallest version has a 504 Wh battery, the medium and large have a 630 Wh battery. According to Porsche, you can cycle up to 100 kilometers with this one. The battery itself can be charged to 80 percent in 2.5 hours, or completely from 0 to 100 in four hours.

The e-bike also features a Shimano XT rear derailleur, Magura MT Trail disc brakes, a Shimano screen and Continental Cross King tires. The rear shock absorber from Fox Float DPS and the Fox 34 suspension fork should also enable rolling over rough terrain. It also includes a phone holder.

Are you afraid of the price?

The new e-bike from Porsche is now available for pre-order. You will have to wait a while before you receive it. The first bikes will be delivered only in Europe from July 31. The long delivery time can be explained by the fact that this e-bike is only made to order.

For the sake of Cross Performance EXC 2ND GEN you pay – hold – 14,200 euros. Despite the high price, this is not a fast pedelec. The e-bike has a maximum speed of 25 km per hour.
