More than 30 DS 7 Crossback and Peugeot 3008 cars fell victim to a gang of thieves operating around Paris. The criminal group consisted of four members who specialized in bypassing the electronic security of SUVs and driving them to ditches around the French capital.

French police raided a group involved in the theft of a DS 7 Crossback and a Peugeot 3008. Four men aged 17 to 22 were detained, the adults were arrested and are awaiting trial, and one person is still in police custody.

In the area where the group was caught, along with one stolen DS 7, two Peugeot 3008s that had previously disappeared from a car park in Paris were also found. It turns out that within three weeks the group, consisting of four teenagers, stole more than thirty cars. They used an experimental signal amplification method. The stolen cars received false license plates and were transported to the pit, where the disassembly and shipment of parts took place.

Car theft is becoming more and more common. The reason for the increased interest of the criminal world in cars is the scarcity of parts and components on the market. Used components, including paper ones, are a highly sought after product and their prices have increased significantly. A similar phenomenon can also be observed in Poland.

In the case of cars with keyless entry, it is worth protecting yourself by using a case that protects the remote control signal. This is a small expense compared to the stress caused by losing your car. Many people also decide to keep their car safe, eg by installing an additional silencer or ID. Additional security measures reduce the risk of theft.
