On a wet track, there was a false start during the first race of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo in Europe. The pole belonged to Loris Spinelli in front of Liberati, Williamson and our colleague Amaury Bonduel. Bonduel took the lead from the fourth starting position, with the red flag hanging out after half a lap. Everyone was back in their qualifying position, but that didn’t stop Bonduel from making another good start. Spinelli was one of the few who bet on slicks and that turned out not to be the best choice. The speedy Italian moved to the belly of the pack shortly after the start.
Despite Williamson and Basz jumping, it was Bonduel who took the lead and won the first race ahead of the Dutchman Milan Teekens who inherited the wheel from Marzio Moretti and the duo of Ciglia/Williamson. The latter won in the Pro-Am and were therefore assured of the title in the Pro Am victory. Bonduel secured the Belgian’s European Vice Pros title.
Another Belgian victory belonged to the Semoulin family who won the Lamborghini Cup ahead of Dutchman Gerard Van der Horst who only needed second place to secure his fourth European title. Van der Horst drove the rated race and after Privitellio dropped to the front by a stroke, second place provided the mathematical certainty of his fourth title. Without Privitello’s puncture, the title would have been postponed for only a few hours, as Gerard was second behind the Semoulin family in the second race. The final race of the European season was a huge honor for Van der Horst after he won his fourth European title.

During the second and also the last race of the European Championship, the track was dry this time and the race was full of events. Pin/Getting and Teekens/Spinelli dominated the front row of the grid and after Dutchman Teekens pitted in third place, it was teammate Loris Spinelli who completed the task to win the Pin/Getting Women’s Team Steel and D’Auria/Tribaudini. .
A few seconds of penalties were awarded. Also our colleague Bonduel who crossed the line in third place, but lost his podium position after a mistake during the pit stop. Lemeret also had some bad luck after he was kicked out of the battle for fourth place and ended up stuck in the litter box. As already written, the Semoulin family was first again in the Lamborghini Cup with the brand new champion Van der Horst and his teammate Hans Fabri who completed the podium after their wake.
