Ogier with the fastest time in the Croatian Shakedown / WRC

In 2021, Sébastien Ogier won the asphalt rally in Croatia in his final year of the championship. In his second start in his time program in 2024 in the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1, he recorded a personal best time of 1:55.7 minutes on the 3.65 km tarmac track. There he was seven seconds faster than teammate Elfin Evans, who won the asphalt festival in Croatia last year. With a time of 1:57.1, championship leader Thierry Neuville in the Hyundai i20 N Rally1 was in third place at the same time as his teammate Ott Tänak.

A year ago, Hyundai of Ireland driver Craig Breen suffered a fatal crash in Croatia during a pre-event test. To commemorate this tragic event, Hyundai has redecorated three of its i20 N Rally1s in Irish national colors for the Croatian Rally Championship. All participants referred to “CraigBreenFoundation.com”, which supports young drivers, with a sticker on their cars.

The first pitch meeting will start on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 18:30 in the evening at the National and University Library in Zagreb. The first of 20 pitch decisions is Friday, April 19, 20234, from 8:28 am Eight stages (= 119 km) will be completed on the 585 km long stage on Friday until the end of the day at 8:54 pm in Westgate Shopping City near Zagreb. The second stage will take place on Saturday, April 20, 2024, after starting again at 6:23 am until arriving at Westgate Shopping City around 8:33 pm for a total of 457 km and again eight decisions (= 108 km). The final on Sunday, April 21, 2024, will start at 5:35 am and will end after 359 km and four stages (= 54 km) around 3:15 pm

The 2024 FIA World Rally Championship is coming to Croatia, offering a fast-paced display of motorsport skills, with the twists and turns of the road challenging enthusiastic participants – especially in wet conditions. Red Bull TV will be live at 10:00 pm CET on Friday, April 19, Saturday, April 20, and Sunday, April 21, for the fourth round of the season, the first asphalt meeting of 2024.
