New Dacia Spring cheapest in the UK. Price from PLN 77,000

The facelifted Dacia Spring came to the UK and is offered there for £14,995, equivalent to PLN 77,000. For comparison: the last price of the Dacia Spring facelift that we saw in Poland was from PLN 106,900. If the UK costs of buying a small electric car were transferred one-to-one to our market, the updated version would be around 30 per cent cheaper than the original version.

Dacia Spring: price soon, technical data practically the same

An electric Dacia has never been offered in the UK before, so it’s hard to say whether it’s a promotional price meant to tempt new customers, or perhaps a permanent offer. It is worth adding that when Spring launched in Poland in April 2021, it cost PLN 76,900. PLN 77,000 calculated above is almost the same value – Several brands have already brought back their price lists for 2021 levels, Dacia could be next..

The base variant with 33 kW/45 HP and a 26.8 (~25) kWh battery costs £14,995. A version with the same battery, but a more powerful 48 kW/65 HP engine that reaches 100 km/h in 14 seconds was sold for only 1,000 pounds more, 15,995 pounds, equivalent to PLN 82,100. The approximate range of this generation is less than 200 WLTP units (preliminary data), less than 170 km in real time in mixed conditions. It should also be noted that the lack of an efficient cell heating system leads to a significant reduction in variety in winter.

The Spring is a simple A-segment car that should be taken as a shopping trolley for the city and surrounding areas. It is not worth buying an electric Dacia for long journeys: the CCS2 port is optional, the available charging power is theoretically up to 30 kW, but in practice it quickly drops to several kilowatts or more. The dynamics of the model is also poor, overtaking the truck on the highway will be a challenge.

More than 1,000 copies of the Spring were sold in Poland by the end of 2023. Polish prices for the upgraded model will be known in April 2024. Deliveries should start in August-September.
