The production version and price tag of the Bugatti Bolide have been revealed

At first it seemed like a good idea, but in the end it turned into a difficult prestige project. We are talking about Bugatti Bolide, like the concept car presented in 2020 was baptized. An ode to the French sports car maker’s classic racing cars, but wrapped in a more modern jacket and powered by a stunning W16.

Although that was not the original intention, that Bugatti Bolide goes in production in 2024. Molsheim is planning a limited edition of 40 pieces, with an actual price of 4 million euros per copy.

A difficult assignment

Now Bugatti has not gifted itself with Bolide. You can say whatever you want about a concept car, because no one knows how powerful the engine is, how heavy the carbon monocoque is or how fast the lap times are. Bold speech is rewarded.

But build the production version and the numbers must be correct. And that is not an easy thing, as was recently shown by both Aston Martin Valkyrie like and Mercedes-AMG One. This also explains why the data for the production version of the Bugatti Bolide is less impressive than that of the concept study.

Less interesting? Well yes. The concept car promised 1,850 hp at 1,240 kg, the production version of the Bugatti Bolide, which is only homologated for the track, adjusts those figures to 1,600 hp at 1,450 kg. Who does it better?
