ERMELO Popular TV presenter Humberto Tan visited artist Fineke ten Napel in Ermelo this week. He made a bronze Jaguar for Tan on Tan’s behalf. Tan came to take the painting himself.

In addition to being a TV presenter at RTL for the talk show named after him and a regular host of the Champions League broadcast, Humberto Tan is also a photographer and documentary maker. He has a passion for the jaguar, one of the largest carnivores found in the Tan area of ​​Suriname, among other places.

JAGUAR HUNTING DOCUMENTARY

For the documentary ‘Hunting the Jaguar’, Tan visited Suriname about five times with a camera to capture the animal. Which, by the way, he failed to do. Jaguars are rarely seen. He’s even made an interesting documentary about it that can be seen on Videoland.

SCULPTURE IN BRASS

Some time ago, Tan visited Carrie ten Napel, the daughter of artist Fineke ten Napel, for a report. Paints, sculptures and also makes bronze sculptures. During the visit, Tan saw the bronze works of art created by Fineke. He immediately asked him to make a bronze jaguar for him. Fineke began to work in wax. It took it to bronze founders Marius and Joost Bosman in Zutphen who turned it into a beautiful bronze statue.

This week Humberto came to pick it up. He was clearly moved to see. Fineke: “Humberto carried it to the car like his baby and shouted: this jaguar will have a big place in my office!”
