In the first test of the winter, Puccetti Racing replaced the factory Kawasaki in the World Superbike Championship. In the second test in Jerez, the Italian team will show the 2025 design.
Because the original Kawasaki factory team is planning Bimota’s return to the 2025 World Superbike Championship, Puccetti Racing will once again act as the official Japanese team – as it has long done in the Supersport category.
Team boss Manuel Puccetti hired Garrett Gerloff, who previously drove a BMW for Bonovo’s campaign, as a driver. The Texan got used to the first test in Jerez on the 22nd/23rd. October is surprisingly fast for the ZX-10RR, which Alex Lowes finished fourth in the World Championship last season.
The 29-year-old will get another chance on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. The latest material is used.
“I’m really looking forward to doing another test,” Gerloff assured. “I immediately felt comfortable on the bike and I found that the ride was not bad, even though it was my first time on a Ninja. I’m excited to see what we can achieve this time. We will definitely get more features and details that will help us find the right direction.”
Because the first winter test took place immediately after the end of the season, Puccetti had not fully completed the transition to a factory team. However, Tuesday will also be recognized as such.
“The bike will have a 2025 version, and our rider’s clothing,” the former racing driver proudly announced. “These two days of testing in Jerez are a continuation of the ones we also did at the Andalusian race at the end of October. These will be important tests because they will allow Garrett to get used to our 2025 version of the Ninja ZX-10RR. We have identified the configuration areas that we want to work on .”
