The cancellation of motoring events over the past two years and supply chain issues have caused many challenges for motor show organizations around the world. January marked the return of Montreal International Auto Show (SIAM), and although we expected a strong return, the lack of builders and the reduced size of the event left many hungry. of Quebec International Auto Show (SIAQ) is next in the region, and this promises to be the Canadian automotive event that will feature the most manufacturers.
The president of the Mobilis Corporation, Louis Desmeules, indicates that 96% of visitors to the Quebec Motor Show appreciate the event to compare different models. To be able to provide a large number of vehicles to compare on the site, SIAQ offers a hybrid formula between manufacturers and dealers in the Quebec region. This transparency for traders is an important difference between SIAQ and SIAM, which only gives producers the possibility to display on the website. Adding sales to the equation allows SIAQ to cover 29 car manufacturers, 14 more manufacturers than SIAM.
Counting down, here is the list of car brands for the 2023 edition of SIAQ: Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Bugatti, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ferrari, Genesis, GMC, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jeep, Kia, Lamborghini, Lexus, Maserati, Mercedes, MINI, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Porsche, RAM, Rolls-Royce, Tesla, Toyota, and Volvo will be there.
Some Doctors are absent
Although Quebec Auto Show or an event that offers a variety of manufacturers, some, generalists, will not be present during the event. This is the case of Honda, Ford, Mazda, Subaru and Volkswagen which will be conspicuous by their absence. Note that some luxury brands will not be on site, Land Rover and Lincoln, in particular.
Electric cars will definitely be present at the show. In September 2022, we learned that SIAQ has become the owner and promoter of the Quebec Electric Vehicle Show (SVEQ). The SVEQ, which will take place in September 2023, will therefore be part of the SIAQ with the addition of certain activities focused on electric vehicles.
It will be possible to test drive an electric car during the Exhibition. The CAA offers several electric test circuits from Tuesday to Sunday of the event. According to the Show organization, electric vehicle models sold in Quebec will, for the most part, be available. In addition, meetings and demonstrations of payment centers will be part of the program.
The event will take place from March 7 to 12, 2023 at the Center de Foires d’Expocité in Quebec City.
