Watch 2025 Infiniti QX80 Reveal Here: Live Stream

Update: Infiniti has announced the details of the 2025 QX80 ahead of the live presentation. You can check it out in our first QX80 post, but stay tuned for a live video at 7:00 PM Eastern.

Infiniti has been flying under the radar for a while, but Nissan’s flagship is ready to make a comeback with the all-new QX80. The super SUV will drop the covers today during a live streaming event hosted on the Edge space deck at Hudson Yards in New York City. Luxobarge is suitable for international markets as well as it previews the next generation Patrol (Armada in the US).

Infiniti had an unusually long teaser campaign in the lead up to today’s premiere. We are not only talking about design details but also technical details. For example, the new QX80 is already certified with a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 making 450 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. That would give it a nice bump of 50 hp and 103 lb-ft over the outgoing model’s standard 5.6-liter V-8.

The V-6 engine will direct power to the wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission designed with a gear ratio range of 40 percent. By downsizing and adopting forced induction, fuel economy should rise. That’s good to hear as the aging QX80 with all-wheel drive on sale today returns 15 miles in the combined cycle. Infiniti claims the next big SUV will also offer better performance despite losing two cylinders.

Elsewhere, the revamped three-row SUV promises to offer greater torsional stability and a smoother ride thanks to adjustable air suspension. The 2025 QX80 also gets active grille shutters that close at high speeds to reduce drag and improve efficiency. The Infiniti suits its Mercedes GLS competitor with a 24-speaker, 1,200-watt Klipsch audio system.

The QX80 will be the brand’s first model to get massaging second-row seats. The first and second rows will be heated and cooled while the rear rear seats can be heated as well. Interestingly, there is also biometric cooling for the people in the second row by installing an infrared sensor in the headliner. It detects when the passenger is hot and sends cool air automatically.

After its debut today, the 2025 Infiniti QX80 will go to the New York Auto Show next week before going on sale later this year.

The live stream begins at 7 PM Eastern.
