After more than thirty years, there is another four-door Lotus, the successor to the Lotus Omega, but fully electric, the Lotus Emeya. It’s not taxed by BPM, but it still costs a lot of money.

Lotus was struggling until 2017 when Chinese company Geely took a majority stake in the small British manufacturer. Now there is a lot of money for the development of several electric models.

Of Lotus Eletre, an attractive electric SUV, is doing very well, with almost 120 registrations in the Netherlands since its introduction last year. Emeya can only contribute more to this.

Its starting price is 109,685 euros. Lotus offers customers a standard 612 hp version, simply called the Emeya. Above this is the equally powerful, more equipped Emeya S, which costs 130 grand.

Then there is the Emeya R, which is listed at 155,025 euros. The model has a power of 918 hp and goes from standstill to 100 km / h in 2.8 seconds. Its maximum speed is 256 km/h.

Frequency and fast payment

That high performance capacity has consequences for the range, which is approximately 490 km. The ‘standard’ Emeya can travel more than 600 km with its 102 kWh battery.

Of Lotus Emeya is a true champion of fast charging, with a maximum DC charging capacity of 350 kW. That’s good for a 10 to 80 percent charge time of 18 minutes.
