At the Montichiari Exhibition the history of Bugatti brought to life by Artioli from Mantua

Mantuan architect Giampaolo Benedini, former vice president of Bugatti Automobili. will be among the speakers at the show who will bring the history of the EB110 to life

Romano Artioli, born in Wisdom in 1932, was the man who brought the Bugatti brand to Italy in the 1980s, relaunching its car manufacturing. He, a visionary entrepreneur who has repeatedly said that he was hit by a Bugatti while reading a book when he was only 12 years old.
After studying mechanics in Bolzano. after the war Artioli devoted himself to car repair. In ’52, at the age of twenty, he got the news that production at Bugatti had stopped. It was a hard blow and from then on he began to weed out the idea that, if no one was affected by the Bugatti situation, he would one day work to restore the brand. It took him 39 years but he succeeded after becoming one of the most important car suppliers and, with Suzuki, the main importer of Japanese cars in Italy as well as the biggest seller of Ferrari.
In the mid-1980s, he began negotiating the sale of the Bugatti brand with the French government and after two years he succeeded in achieving his goal.
In 1987 the new Bugatti Automobili SpA (BA) was founded and Artioli became its president.
Connected to the rebirth of the luxury car maker is one model in particular, the EB110. And the history of this car will be the protagonist next Sunday 14 April at the Garda justice center in Montichiari, as part of “Spider and cabriolet, open car market displays of yesterday and today”.
At 3.30 pm we will talk about the history of Bugatti. In particular, we will focus on the technical evolution of the EB 110, a reborn supercar produced in Campogalliano from 1991 thanks to Artioli.
Born with the original 12-cylinder engine, all-wheel drive, soon it had four turbines, moving from a honeycomb chassis to carbon. A collection of technology for a dream car. The speakers will be Giampaolo Benedini, an architect from Mantua, former vice president of Bugatti Automobili and architect of the blue factory in Campogalliano, which even after stopping production is still a symbol of the Motor Valley; Loris Bicocchi test driver, Maurizio Bigi, engineer and designer, Pavel Rajmis, development and research manager, Federico Trombi, homologation engineering manager. The contribution is expected from Jan Marc Borel, president of Bugatti international, who will be coordinated by Christian Fonzari, industrial designer. At this event, a drawing of the spider version of the EB110, which has not been illuminated, will be shown.
