The third and final free practice session for the 6 Hours of Imola once again went to the Ferrari 499P.

As the qualifiers approached, the situation became increasingly tense. This tension manifested itself in several off-track events involving various cars, including the #94 Peugeot 9X8 and #51 Ferrari in the Hypercar category, as well as the Lexus RC F GT3s. In fact, Paul di Resta hastened the end of the session two minutes before its conclusion by ending up in the gravel trap.

In the lead, Antonio Fuoco moved the #50 Ferrari 499P to the top of the standings with a 1:31.238, a few tenths of a second slower than the record he had set the day before with a 1:31.238: 30,957. The BMW M Hybrid V8s also shone, with a top 3 for two Bavarian LMDhs: #15 completed the lap in 1:31.272 (+0.034 s), with #20 trailing by 0.305 s (1: 31.543). Next, we find the number 83 Ferrari (+ 0.339 s) and the No. 5 Porsche 963 from the Porsche Penske Motorsport team (+ 0.433 s).

In the LMGT3 category, the Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3s led the way with Marco Sorensen, credited with a best time of 1:42.474. The teammate of Clément Mateu and Erwan Bastard in D’Station Racing won the Aston Martin n° 27/Heart of Racing Team by no less than 5 tenths. Then follow #31 BMW M4 GT3 from Team WRT, #92 Porsche 911 GT3 R from Manthey Pure Rxcing and #95 McLaren 720S GT3 Evo from United Autosports.
