Jaguar will be a pure SUV brand this year

When you say yes, that type of car always appears: low, long, luxury sedan. In addition to sporty GTs such as the E-Type, XJ-S and XK8, the British brand has always relied on that type of car.

After all, the iconic XJ was produced in an unchanged form between 1968 and 2009. So the car can be quickly recognized as a Jaguar.

SUV only

However, the traditional image of Jaguar will soon be thrown into the trash. From June, the attractive British brand will focus exclusively on the production of SUVs.

The now obsolete XE, XF and F-Type will be phased out at that time. Die-hard sedan and GT drivers can still order new Jags, but they’re stuck with a few predetermined specifications. Putting together your own car according to your wishes is no longer an option.

Next time

So inveterate Jag drivers won’t have much to look for in the showroom in the near future. By deleting the classic models, only the E-Pace, F-Pace and fully electric I-Pace remain. The trio of SUVs will only be joined next year by a new model, a four-seater electric GT in the style of the Porsche Taycan.

More unconfirmed plans would point to a top-of-the-line SUV to take on the Bentley Bentayga, and the long-awaited successor to the XJ. The nameplate was already reserved for an electric limousine, but the project was completed in 2021 for the new JEA platform.
