In 1999, the Leverkusen importer founded a small club to support the company’s successors in the retail sector. The offer for members is unique in the industry.

The twelfth Mazda Junior sponsorship program is currently underway. The current squad recently visited the port of Antwerp, where new Mazda cars are arriving from Japan.

The Mazda Junior Club celebrates its 25th birthday this year: The program, launched by Mazda Germany in 1999, is aimed at young people who want to take on management roles in their Mazda dealership. The program aims to provide basic skills and create networks to develop young talent in a challenging market.

The focus is on the so-called youth days and support program. Youth Days are held every year for three days at different locations associated with the Mazda brand. In addition to the technical lectures, the aim is also an in-depth exchange between the participants and the management of Mazda Motors Germany.

18 month financing plan

As part of the 18-month support program, skills related to future leadership behavior as well as effective support skills are taught. Topics such as project management, tracking key figures, personnel and team management are also regularly on the agenda for the ten to twelve young people taking part.

“We are very proud to be able to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Mazda Youth Support Program. This program is a solid foundation for us to prepare for the company’s succession at an early stage and is unique in this system in the industry,” says Stefan Kampa, Director of Dealer Network Development & Customer Experience at Mazda Motors Germany.

“The many conversations with the management of Mazda Motors Germany, the very early participation of young people in the future projects of the brand and the solidarity and friendship that arose from this were very constructive. I am very grateful for this wonderful moment and I congratulate the program on the anniversary 25,” adds Matthias Hüls, former spokesman for the small club and now managing director of Dortmund car dealership Bonnermann & Hüls.

Mazda also enables participants to participate in an exchange experience for three days each year after completing the sponsorship program. All years of the junior club come together there to exchange ideas on relevant topics and receive further training.
