The Seminole Sheriff believes the body of the burned SUV to be that of a South Florida woman

WINTER SPRINGS, Fla.—Authorities in central Florida say they believe they have found the body of a South Florida woman who was taken in a carjacking.

Katherine Altagracia Guerrero De Aguasvias, 31, of Homestead, was attacked and kidnapped at gunpoint Thursday afternoon at an intersection in northeast Orlando, Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma said during a news conference on Friday.

Investigators found what they believe to be his burning SUV and his body less than two hours later in rural Osceola County, south of Orlando. Investigators will use dental records and DNA to confirm identity.

Guerrero De Aguasvias was at an intersection just outside of Winter when a green Acura started hitting his SUV, Lemma said. Guerrero De Aguasvias called her husband, who told her not to stop. Neither did they call the authorities, Lemma said. Another driver called 911 and took cellphone video of the abduction. The video shows the passenger from the Acura pointing a gun at Guerrero De Aguasvias and then jumping into the back seat of his SUV before driving off, followed by the Acura.

Lemma said investigators believe Guerrero De Aguasvias was targeted by the occupants of the Acura, but they have no motive for the carjacking. He had no criminal history since moving to the United States five years ago, Lemma said. Her husband told authorities he was in central Florida to visit family, but investigators did not immediately locate any relatives in the area.
