The Austrian, next Tuesday’s opponent of the Dutch Arantxa Rus in Roland Garros, lost in three sets to the Italian Lucia Bronzetti: 4-6 7-5 5-7. For Bronzetti, currently world number 102, it meant his first overall victory at the highest level.

Nicolas Jarry won the Geneva ATP tournament. The 27-year-old Chilean defeated Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov in 1 hour and 37 minutes: 7-6 (1) 6-1. It was Jarry’s third win. South America won the soil three times. Earlier this year he won the competition in Santiago in his home country and in 2019 he was the best in Bastad, Sweden. Dimitrov is still on eight titles at the moment.
