Rolls-Royce is recording sales, already seeing what 2022 will bring

For the second time, Rolls-Royce delivered more than 5,000 cars in one year. The 2021 result is also the highest ever.

Rolls-Royce proudly says that the sales record for 2021 is a sales figure that is almost 49 percent higher than that of 2020, but it was the last year that was bad for Rolls-Royce. Like other car manufacturers, Rolls-Royce was hit by the corona crisis, which led to the closure and closing of the factory in England. Due to the forced production break and the fact that many customers canceled their orders, BMW’s British subsidiary achieved annual sales of 3,756 units during the year. This year there were 5,586 units

A decrease in strength leads to an increase in strength

The 49 percent growth compared to 2020 is a fact, but it sounds better than it is. The British managed to produce exactly 5152 cars in 2019. For Rolls-Royce, 2020 sales of 3,756 units meant a decrease of no less than 26 percent. The manufacturer immediately managed to turn the tide at the beginning of this year. In the first quarter, the car manufacturer immediately sold cars 62 percent more than the previous year. In regions such as China, the Americas and Asia-Pacific, Rolls-Royce pushed sales to record levels, breaking past records in several countries. In the Netherlands, 16 units were registered last year. In Belgium 7 pieces were registered.

A significant increase in production capacity

In the years 2019 and 2021, Rolls-Royce sales exceeded 5,000 units. A great achievement, considering that the factory was established at the beginning of this century with a capacity that is very low. The manufacturer cannot modify or extend the production site. Additional production areas to increase capacity have been made within the twenty-year-old factory. According to one of the people involved, Rolls-Royce now has the capacity to produce 6,000 cars a year.

The market leader in the upper segment

The brand now offers Cullinan, Phantom, Ghost and Dawn. Final copies of the Wraith are currently being worked on. The manufacturer spreads the launch of new models in such a way that it also has a sales peak for each product line in sequence, so that the production capacity is always at the same level. The BMW subsidiary shows that it is the largest car seller in (tax-free) part of 250,000 euros and higher.

Dealers already have the necessary cars on order for 2022. Rolls-Royce claims that production is replenished until the summer. Without production disruptions, problems or anything, the 117-year-old brand would once again set a new sales record this year.
