Lotus Bakeries, which owns well-known brands such as Peijnenburg and Snelle Jelle, says that volume growth and price increases are responsible for the sales growth. Profits are also higher and rise by almost 25% to €131 million. The Belgian company says it is succeeding in persuading supermarkets to pass on higher costs in selling prices. They do this by announcing their price increases in advance.

International success
The company is also developing internationally. Sales figures increased in overseas markets such as the United States, Australia and Canada and there was also success within Europe. Due to international growth, Lotus Biscoff Cookies rose to the top five in the Global Cookie Brands Ranking. Lotus Bakeries indicates that internationalization of Lotus Biscoff, among others, remains a priority.

Price advantage
Lotus Bakeries is popular with investors due to its solid statistics. After the publication of the annual figures, the stock rose by almost 20% to €9,360 yesterday (February 5), although a strong correction took place today. In addition to price gains, dividends will also increase. The cookie giant announces that the Board of Directors will propose an amount of €58 per share in general dividends during the shareholders’ meeting. A significant increase compared to 2022 when this was €45.
