Ostro³êka is preparing for a big sports holiday. Already on Sunday, September 18, athletes participating in the Kurpiowski Half Marathon will run through the streets of the city and district of Rzekuñ. There will also be a sports exhibition for children, because the event will include a Mini Marathon.
Anyone who hasn’t made a decision yet and hasn’t signed up for the race, nothing is lost! The organizer offered the possibility to register even on the day of the race.
Where and when can I register?
Friday, September 16 at 12.00-18.00 – Hostel Fortis,
Saturday, September 17 at 12.00-18.00 – Hostel Fortis,
Sunday, September 18 (competition day), 7.00-9.00 – Competition Office in the City Square.
Both distances start on Sunday, September 18 at 10.00
The ambassador for this year’s edition is Przemysław Dąbrowski14-time winner of the Polish Championship in various distances and two-time winner of the Kurpiowski Half Marathon in 2017-2018.
The player himself did not hide his joy at receiving such a role:
– First of all, it was my dream to win the Kurpiowski Half Marathon, because I come from this area, I am connected to this place. I participated in many editions, I was third, seventh, and even tenth. I couldn’t win and I really wanted to do it. Finally, the year 2017 has arrived, where with my hard work I managed to fulfill the dream of winning and making happy those who had their fingers crossed for me for many years. This year I am happy to be able to participate in the running organization as an ambassador, says Przemysław Dąbrowski.
Przemek successfully defended his title in 2018. A year later, he lost it to Kenyan Bivot Wycliffe Kipkorira.

Which way will be successful?
The event route runs on the following streets: Ostro³êki: Hallera, 11 Listopada, Inwalidów Wojennych, Fieldorfa “Nila”, Aleja Jana Paw³a II, Bohaterów Warszawy, aleja Solidarno¶ci, Targowa, Wesoñ³a and through the commune villages. – Goworki, Nowa Wie¶ and Teodorowo.
Therefore, in the areas mentioned above there may be problems in road traffic between 9.00-12.30.
Mini Marathon for children and teenagers
The event that accompanies the adult race is the Mini Marathon for children and teenagers. The professions were divided into two age groups: 2011 and younger, and 2008-2010. Each Mini Marathon participant will receive a commemorative medal, and in addition, diplomas and trophies will be awarded to the three best boys and girls in each age category.
Participation in the Mini Marathon for children and teenagers is free. The limit of participants is 100 people. The application process determines participation. The race starts at 9.00 am.
