Sales of light vehicles fell 27.5% at Audi and grew 5.2% at Volkswagen during April







The sale of light vehicles in April of the German companies Audi and Volkswagen had opposite paths. On the one hand, the commercialization of units of the first company decreased 27.5 percent, while the sale of the second company grew just 5.2 percent, the company reported this Thursday. Mexican Association of the Automotive Industry (AMIA).

These are positive sales only for one company of the two transnationals established in the rPuebla-Tlaxcala region. According to the AMIA, Volkswagen sold 8,985 light vehicles, 445 more than the 8,540 vehicles sold in March, which means a monthly increase of 5.2 percent.

This behavior was also positive in the annual variation, that is, during April 2023 Volkswagen sold 1,461 vehicles more than the 7,524 vehicles sold in April 2022, an increase of 19.4 percent.

For her part, the German company Audi sold 893 vehicles in April, while in March the sale was 1,233, which represents a monthly decrease in sales of 27.5 percent.

However, in its annual variation, sales grew 21.4 percent, and that is that in April of last year Audi sold 735 vehicles, that is, 158 cars less than in April 2023, which, as has been said, 893 units were sold. .

Another important fact is that in the first quarter of the year, Audi has sold 4,097 light vehicles and Volkswagen 33,859 units, so both transnationals have managed to sell 37,956 light vehicles.
