China live ticker: Verstappen with a blob on a clean sheet / Formula 1

At the 2024 Japan Grand Prix, three-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen won his 57th GP victory. The 26-year-old Dutchman has now received the winner’s trophy at 25 different Formula 1 tracks, only Lewis Hamilton has won more (31).

Looking at the 2024 World Cup schedule, we find only two tracks/countries where Red Bull Racing star Verstappen has yet to win – China and Singapore. There are two obvious spots in the exceptional purity of the race.

Verstappen has competed in the Shanghai International Circuit five times so far, in 2015/2016 with Toro Rosso (now Racing Bulls) and since 2017 with Red Bull Racing. Max has been on the podium just once in China, in 2017 when he finished third behind Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari).

Red Bull Racing’s record in China can also be improved: RBR took its first ever GP win there, with Sebastian Vettel ahead of Mark Webber in 2009, but it took nine years until the next straight, in 2018 with Daniel Ricciardo .
