Scout Sixty: 999 cubic meters per PC / product

With the Scout Sixty, the Indians run out of model range. Bottom line, that means for the American manufacturer that a V2 with less than 1000 cubic meters is installed in a cruiser and a bobber.

The additional Sixty designation in the Indian Scout series refers to displacement in cubic inches. With a diameter of 93 mm and a stroke of 73.6 mm, you get a displacement of 999.5 cc, which the usual bean counters like your SPEEDWEEK writer calculate at 61 cubic inches.

There was already a Scout Sixty from 2015 and with the introduction of Euro5 in 2021. Now this model name is back, aligned according to Euro5+. At the beginning of 2024, the Scout range was upgraded to 1250 cc and the conversion from aluminum to tubular steel chassis was also done.

Now Indian completes the Scout series again with two versions of the Scout Sixty, called Bobber and Classic, which are technically identical and differ only slightly in design and equipment. In terms of model strategy, these are entry-level models with easy handling, low seat height and affordable prices.

The liquid-cooled V2 with a cylinder angle of 60 ° produces 85 hp and 87 Nm at 6200 rpm, which corresponds to an increase in performance of 7 hp compared to the Sixty models released last, with the same maximum torque.

The tubular steel frame and dual rear spring struts introduced in 2024 on the Scout models will also be fitted to the Sixty versions. Disc brakes with a diameter of 298 mm slow down on both wheels. With a seat height of 649 mm, 243 kg can be accepted with a full tank. Since these are entry-level models (in US terms), both versions are also available with 35 kW/48 HP A2 compliant.

The Scout Sixty Bobber is expected to be available from January 2025 at a price of €12,890, the Classic version costs €13,360 (Switzerland Fr. 12,990.-/Classic not available, Austria 14,790/€15,690), with optional equipment and accessories. The price of packages can be increased as you wish.
