Seven people in a Citroen. The first announcement of the Citroen C3 Aircross

Seven people in one small Citroen? This does not exist for a long time on the French brand (unless the police have recorded the bravery of the record holders to take more people on board). However, I still have fond memories of the big Citroen C8 and its annoying fan that worked without any lubrication (an unpleasant high-frequency whistle was heard in the cabin).

The French decided it was high time for a new 7-seater Citroen in their range in Europe. Turns out you don’t need a supercar based on a delivery model or an MPV. All you need is a small B-segment crossover And that’s how the new Citroen C3 Aircross enters the market. Of course new for Europeans. It is important that the model had already started in markets such as India and Brazil. Well, you have to know your place in line.

About 4.4 m long and 7 areas

The SUV / crossover of segment B in the French version is a car with a length of 4.39 m and two types of drive. It will still be possible to order a combustion version, or more precisely, a hybrid version based on the 1.2 petrol, which is not very popular. For those who have already said goodbye to the combustion engine, there will also be an electric car. Unfortunately, the technical data has not yet been revealed. However, you can bet on the technique known from other models of Stellantis. And this means 1.2 turbo with an installation of 48 V and 136 HP. In terms of electricity, a 113 HP engine and a 44 kWh LFP battery.

The French C3 Aircross was built on the Smart Car platform jointly developed with India’s Tata Motors. So who is the technical guy? This is not only the smallest Citroen C3, but also a new Opel model with a bold name – Frontera. It is easy to get the impression that the Germans are testing the patience of their customers. They referred to the Opel icon developed in collaboration with Isuzu.

But they didn’t stop at C3 and Frontera. There is also a coupe known from India as the Citroen Basalt. There are still other models waiting to start. In preparation are, among others: Fiat Panda and a small SUV also with the Fiat logo. So there is something to look forward to.
