CX-80 is Mazda’s new flagship for Europe – News and Highlights

Mazda presents the CX-80 which, with its three rows of seats, becomes the largest car in the European range of the Hiroshima company, along with its new flagship. Pre-sales will start in May, while sales will start in autumn, and the base price will be 61,235 euros. This model follows Kodo’s design philosophy and focuses on elegance with a mastery of functionality. About five meters long and a wheelbase of more than three meters, it offers more space than the already large CX-60, has two folding third-row seats, and three possible second-row configurations.
In addition, the human-machine interface takes advantage of the new Alexa voice control and the new hybrid navigation system, which combines the advantages of offline and online services. The image is completed with the new Trailer Hitch View system, which, through the central display, helps to position the vehicle in the event of a collision with a trailer.

With double wishbone front suspension, multilink rear suspension and all-wheel drive, the CX-80 will have, at launch, two powertrains: e-Skyactiv PHEV, a plug-in hybrid made up of a gasoline engine of four cylinders and with an electric motor; and e-Skyactiv D, an inline six-cylinder turbodiesel with a 48V Boost mild hybrid system. The first has a system power of 327 HP, the second offers 249 HP. Driver aids include Cruising & Traffic Support (CTS) and new Unresponsive Driver Assistance (assistance for distracted drivers); Smart Brake Support (SBS) with a new forward collision avoidance system, and Emergency Lane Keeping (ELK) with a new assistance system to avoid the traffic ahead.
