Lincoln Park were 2-0 winners against Northside when they last played in March 2023, but their luck changed this time. The Lincoln Park Lions were defeated 10-6 by the Northside Mustangs on Monday. Lincoln Park has now taken the ‘L’ in back-to-back games.

Eleanor Funke was cooking despite her team’s loss, scoring a run as they went 2-for-3. The team also got help courtesy of Lindsey Shraiberg, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Although they lost, Lincoln Park hit smart and ended the game with just one goal. That’s the most shots they’ve managed all season.

On the Northside side, they got a big performance from Caroline Wilson, who went 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs, and a run. Payton Phoxay was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

The loss to Lincoln Park dropped their record to 2-4. For Northside, the win made it two in a row and improved their season record to 4-2.

Both teams will have to step up in their upcoming games. Lincoln Park is on the road again on Wednesday to play Whitney Young at 7:30 pm On the Northside side, they will face Payton College Prep at 4:30 pm on Tuesday. Payton College and Northside Prep are tied at 3-3 over their past six head to head.
