Electrification will play a key role in Maserati’s future strategy. This includes a commitment to offer electric versions of the entire model series by 2025 and fully electric cars only by 2030. The Gran Turismo Folgore will soon be joined by the Grecale Folgore, which aims to bring “multiple series” to the brand and trident. Davide Grasso, CEO of Maserati SpA, then commented in a flowery Italian passage:

“It is an important moment for the Maserati brand. Today we are in China for the Shanghai Motor Show and we are in Italy for the international Milan Design Week. We are celebrating the future worldwide: it is a new beginning for the brand. And we are celebrating Folgore, the installation program electricity that has become a reality and is now ready to pave the way in this revolutionary era. I am very happy to be here in Shanghai, because it is not only an international exhibition, but also an international platform for innovation and a good place to present the first examples of electricity in the history of Maserati.”

As for the data, one still keeps a low profile: The battery capacity is said to be up to 105 kWh, but unlike the Gran Turismo, the 400-volt architecture is still used here. There are rumors of up to 400 kW (544 hp) and around 800 Newton meters of torque. There is also no information on the full range and charging times – the car is still under negotiation.
