Next year the Sidecar World Championship will consist of seven race weekends. An interesting detail: the end of the season will no longer take place in Portugal, but at the Sidecar Festival in Oschersleben.
The 2024 World Sidecar Championship was hard to beat in terms of excitement. Until the very last race it was not clear who would win in the end. Briton Harry Payne and fellow French driver Kevin Rousseau from the Steinhausen Racing team won by a possible margin of 58 thousandths of a second over Swiss Markus Schlosser and his German co-driver Luca Schmidt (Gustoil Sidecar Racing) to secure the world title. head.
The awarding of world championships by the world motorcycle association FIM in Mallorca is just a few days behind us, and teams can already start planning for next season after the publication of the provisional calendar.
A total of seven events are planned. We will work together with the German International Championships three times to ensure TV coverage, as in the last two years. The remaining four race weekends will be held in conjunction with other national or international championships.
In an effort to save costs, there will be two retrospective events. After Le Mans we go straight to Estoril and from the Pannonian Ring to Many. In recent days, the end of the season was held in Portugal, which was met with confusion by the side teams because the event was not well received by the audience. The criticism was taken into account and next year the FIM chose the Sidecar Festival in Oschersleben as the finale.
